The purpose of this blog is to expose my creativity to the world. Writing is a form of expression and of course it will be influenced by experiences culture, lifestyle, points of views and other things.
My focus will many times be tragic, mysterious, suspenseful, maybe even shocking. I have a wide variety of subjects I enjoy and I love putting twists and turns to my stories and poetry.
Unless I specifically say explicitly that XYZ subject is based on a personal point of view, in no way should it automically be understood that I percieved a certain race, group of people, religion, culture, and other "minority or superior" class a certain way because I don't.
Almost everyone perceives a particular group of people to act, think, live a certain way. For example, we associate gangs, shootings, drugs... with 'the projects' or 'ghettos', poverty, due to movies, music, news, television... This is also true with Rock N' Roll; "it's all about sex, drugs and money".
My writing intends to show a different side because the truth is that not everything that is percieved or said is the truth. As a matter of fact just to provide another example, those who know me, know that I love psycology and I love reading all about Serial Killers. It is said that most serial killers are white male usually between their late 20's and 30's, yet about this subject is dicussed very little because it touches people's emotions, we hate being scared and we only hear, see or believe what we want and how we want. But most of all we hate to admit that the person next to us can be a complete maniac and not even know it. This can also be due to the fact that we are not used to this kind of news or things happening. We can live with all the other "common" madness but not the one that cathes us by surprise.
Now of course we can't always be living in fear or thinking that anyone could be totally nuts but sometimes the more you know -at least a little- about everything the safer you can be.
Don't forget that the mind is a world full of endless possibilities!!
REMEMBER I would love your feedback!!
Love,
Theresa J. Pérez
